Sam I am

“Sam” has been a lesson horse with Pair Of Aces Stables since 2007. In that time he has patiently taught countless kids and adults how to ride.

Sam seemingly has the ability to read minds, taking care of the smallest of students, timid adults or turning on his game for the show ring and delivering his best every time. Sam has carried many of our riders from their first ever lesson, over their first jumps, through their first dressage tests and so much more.

Sam even stepped up to the plate standing in for another horse at the 2021 USHJA Nationals Competition. He competed in the .70m and .80m jumpers as well as the 2’6” Adult Equitation with a rider who only had 2 weeks to get to know him. Sam and Emily ribboned in every single class, bringing home top placings and earning Reserve Champion in the .70m Adult Jumper Division.

Sam loves playing in turnout with his friends - where he is often the prankster of the group. His favorite treat is sugar cubes, but peppermints come in a close second.
